Hazelight Studios, the team behind the hit It Takes Two, is gearing up for its next co-op adventure. The first gameplay trailer showcases a unique blend of sci-fi and fantasy, brought to life through a creative story.

Split Fiction follows Mo and Zoe, two authors who suddenly become trapped in their own stories. To escape, they must hold onto their memories and work together. The twist? Each writer specializes in a different genre – Mo in sci-fi, Zoe in fantasy. As a result, players constantly shift between futuristic and magical worlds, creating a dynamic and ever-changing experience.

Designed for two players, Split Fiction blends action, puzzles and teamwork. In the sci-fi sections, players tackle gravity-based challenges, race through high-speed chases on futuristic bikes and face off against cyber ninjas and mechanical guards. The fantasy levels introduce magical transformations, allowing Mo and Zoe to shapeshift into different creatures to overcome obstacles. Success depends on strong cooperation.

First gameplay insights can be found in the new trailer, which was released on January 28:

From the creators of It Takes Two

Split Fiction is being developed by Hazelight Studios, the team behind the acclaimed co-op hit It Takes Two, which won Game of the Year at the 2021 Game Awards and remains highly rated on Steam. The game is being published in partnership with Electronic Arts.

The acclaimed developer aims to deliver another thrilling co-op experience and players won’t have to wait long to see if it succeeds. Split Fiction is set to launch on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a price of around $50.
