A new dungeon RPG may not have many Steam reviews yet, but the feedback is consistently positive. Fans of the genre who have been waiting for a worthy successor to Legend of Grimrock might finally have found it.

Fans of dungeon RPGs will likely know Legend of Grimrock, the 2012 game that put players in charge of a four-person party exploring dark dungeons, solving puzzles and battling monsters in real time. Those who have been waiting for a worthy new entry in the genre may have finally found one.

Tower of Mask, a new dungeon RPG, launched on December 7 and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. At the time of writing, the game has just 101 reviews on Steam, yet an impressive 99% are positive, an exceptionally high rating for the platform.

Dungeon crawling with survival horror

Tower of Mask blends dungeon crawling with survival horror. You explore a mysterious tower using classic grid-based movement, solving puzzles while being relentlessly hunted by masked creatures. With scarce resources, running out of ammunition means direct combat is rarely an option. Instead, survival depends on stealth and clever use of the environment.

The story follows a nameless wanderer who wakes up in a mysterious tower with no memory. With each floor they ascend, the secrets of the eerie structure and its masked inhabitants slowly unravel. Tower of Mask embraces an old-school aesthetic, while its unsettling sound design keeps the tension high.

Currently available with a 20 percent discount

On Steam, Tower of Mask is normally priced at $11, but until February 4, players can get it for $8.79 thanks to a 20% discount. A free demo is available for those who want to try it first.
