The first GTA VI trailer became official on December 5, 2023, and since then, Rockstar Games has been relatively quiet about the game's development. There have been rumors about a second trailer, but that's yet to come. As for the release date window, it's set for "fall 2025," but a new online store leak may have just narrowed it down.
This leak comes from a not-so-known store named XUruguay. The store has put up a page that will apparently allow gamers to place orders for GTA 6 when it becomes available. In the description box, this listing stated that the game is launching on September 17.
To fill you in, September 17, 2025, would mark the 12th anniversary of the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5 (physical PS5 copy curr. $25.90 on Amazon), and it also somewhat matches the "fall 2025" timeline shared by Rockstar Games. However, this piece of information has now been deleted from the description box of the page.
80 Level, a gaming-related news outlet, has apparently got in touch with XUruguay, asking about the authenticity of the information they have put up. The outlet claimed that they allegedly work with PlayStation. There may have been some sort of miscommunication between PlayStation and the store, which could have possibly led to an early reveal of GTA 6's launch date.
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have yet to comment on this leak. However, given that there is limited official information available about GTA 6, there's a high chance that this matter will not get officially addressed.
