Steam celebrates Chinese New Year 2025 with up to 90% off including many top-rated games

Steam frequently offers attractive discounts on individual games. This time, however, the start of the Chinese New Year 2025 will be a big celebration for gaming fans around the world. To kick off the Lunar New Year, Steam China is currently running a promotion offering significant discounts on a range of games. From RPGs to racing games, open-world survival crafting games to platformers, there should be something for every gamer. There's also a free gift: three animated stickers.  

The Lunar New Year 2025 Sale on Steam offers a unique twist - it includes many globally popular games, as well as some lesser-known titles that may be more familiar to Chinese audiences. It's a great chance to discover hidden gems that you might never have come across otherwise.

Death Stranding Director's Cut, a worldwide acclaimed game, is one of the standout deals. Normally priced at $39.99, it's currently available for just $19.99 - a 50% discount. Created by Kojima Productions, the studio behind the iconic Metal Gear series, this open-world running adventure is anything but your typical action-packed fighting game.

In the game, you play as Sam Porter Bridges, a courier navigating a post-apocalyptic America. Delivering parcels isn't easy - you'll have to contend with rain that ages you, the souls of the dead, and lethal creatures that resemble whale jellyfish. It's a bizarre yet engrossing experience that has earned a "very positive" rating from Steam players worldwide.  

Some other popular games that are offered at greatly reduced prices on Steam and have all received a "very positive" player rating:

• No Man's Sky, an open-world survival crafting game from the developers at Hello Games, normally retails for $59.99. Thanks to a generous 60% discount, the game is currently available for $23.99.
• Peglin, a pachinko roguelike, is available for $12.99 instead of $19.99 thanks to a 35% discount.
• Dungeons of Hinterberg, a relatively new game from 2024, is available with a 50% discount for $14.99 instead of the usual $29.99.
• My Time At Portia, with a whopping 80% discount, is currently available for $5.99 instead of $29.99
• Songs of Conquest, a strategy game with a 66% discount, is available for $10.19 instead of $34.99
