The game's narrative revolves around two parents who are facing a pending divorce. Adding to their problems, the couple is transformed into dolls in a world where every object around them looks enormous. The game is a 3D platformer but with a heavy dose of problem-solving. Players must employ unique abilities as they navigate through a fantastic recreation of a household and its surroundings.

The current Steam sale includes similarly priced games, but few contenders boast as many accolades as It Takes Two. After the release of the Hazlelight Studios project in 2021, it soon racked up accomplishments, including The Game Award for Game of the Year.
