Survival roguelikes are a well-loved genre, with games like Don't Starve and Project Zomboid being classic examples of the same. However, very few new games out there manage to bring together action, base-building, and cooperative play into a single, balanced experience. Broventure: The Wild Co-op is a brand-new game that is aiming to do just that. Developed by Alice Games, this upcoming roguelike has just launched a free demo on Steam. Players now have a chance to test out its mechanics before the full release.
In Broventure, you can take on hordes of enemies solo or with up to three friends, using a combination of perks and abilities to survive. The game also features resource gathering and crafting, so you can expand your camp into a whole settlement. As you progress, you can also unlock new playable characters, recruit allies, and build crucial utility structures.
The gameplay in general is centered around strategic decision-making—players need to balance offense and defense, as they upgrade their abilities while making sure their camp remains intact. Boss battles also add an element of challenge to the game, pushing players to use teamwork and carefully plan their attacks.
System requirements-wise, the demo should run on most systems. Players will need at least a 64-bit Windows 10 system, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz or equivalent processor, 4GB RAM, and a GeForce 8800GT or ATI Radeon HD 4850 for graphics. The recommended specs bump up to an Intel i3 processor, 6GB RAM, and a GeForce GTX 660, with 8GB of available storage.
The Broventure: The Wild Co-op demo is now available on Steam. While there's no official release date yet, players can wishlist the game to stay updated. You can also check the game trailer below.
