In recent days, leaker Igor Bogdanov has been steadily revealing details about a forthcoming camera gimbal from DJI called the RS 4 Mini, which may support its ActiveTrack technology. Now, Bogdanov has turned his attention to the Osmo Mobile series that could soon receive not one but two new releases.
For context, the Osmo Mobile 7 surfaced in November at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a direct successor to the ageing Osmo Mobile 6 (curr. $126.55 on Amazon). The smartphone gimbal also appeared alongside the 'Osmo Mobile 7P', whose purpose was initially unclear. Based on Bogdanov's latest leaks, the Osmo Mobile 7P will actually line up as a professional version of the Osmo Mobile 7 with added features.
For instance, DJI has added a camera module that Bogdanov will add tracking support that the regular Osmo Mobile 7 misses out on. Conversely, both smartphone camera gimbals may integrate LiDAR, unlike the existing Osmo Mobile 6. Specifications and pricing remain unknown for both Osmo Mobile 7 camera gimbals at this stage, although we suspect that leakers like Bogdanov will share more information about the pair in the coming weeks.
