Samsung pulled a rather unusual move by its standards when it unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge last week. While the rest of the Galaxy S25 series is already available to pre-order, the company has not publicly shared an official release date for its first Galaxy S Edge in nine years. Instead, it has left the device's arrival up to speculation, which has currently settled on April as a possible release month.
Almost all technical details about the Galaxy S25 Edge remain unknown too, although two rear-facing cameras were visible during its Galaxy Unpacked showcase. According to one source, Samsung has been developing the device with a 200 MP sensor as its primary camera, just like the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon). In other words, the Galaxy S25 Edge should utilise the ISOCELL HP2, which offers 0.6 µm-wide pixels and a 1/1.3-inch optical format.
Meanwhile, the same source suggests that Samsung has opted for a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera as the Edge's second rear-facing camera. Presumably, this is the ISOCELL 3K1, which the company has been using across its Galaxy Z Fold and non-Ultra Galaxy S smartphones for generations. The Galaxy S25 Edge is also expected to launch with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 like the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus, thereby leaving the Galaxy S25 Ultra as the only model in the line-up to feature Gorilla Armor 2.
