Besides bringing some hardware changes, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series introduces many new features with One UI 7. Macworld argues that "over a dozen" of these have been copied from the iPhone.

It's not uncommon to see manufacturers copy each other. For example, Macworld highlights that with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has introduced a good number of One UI 7 features that are similar to those found on the latest iPhone models.

Among all, Macworld notes the introduction of third-party chatbot integration to Galaxy AI. This is quite familiar to ChatGPT integration on Apple Intelligence. Apple's AI suite is about to get support for Google Gemini as well. The outlet further points out that the Gemini trigger animation on the Galaxy S25 series. It is very similar to Siri's colorful glowing border animation on the iPhone.

Samsung has also introduced the ability to record, summarize, and transcribe calls on the Phone app of the Galaxy S25 series. These features are already available on iOS 18. Then there's the new battery information section on the Settings app, which, like iOS, offers insight into the battery's cycle count, health, and other related details.

These aren't the only 'copied' features on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series (pre-order S25 on Amazon). Macworld highlights a bunch of others, including the Now Bar, which appears to have taken inspiration from iOS' Live Activities, the ability to record log videos, and many other iPhone-like UI elements.

Of course, it's not like that Apple hasn't 'copied' anything from Samsung. For instance, it has introduced the ability to change the colors of app icons, enabled quick setting toggles, and offered lock screen customizations. These are something that Galaxy users have been enjoying for quite a while. Again, this is not a bad thing because, ultimately, it's the users who benefit when companies try to implement the best possible version of a new idea.
