TCL introduced the TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G smartphone at CES 2025, and now the company has expanded its 60 series portfolio by launching four new smartphones, including the TCL 60R 5G, the TCL 60 SE, the TCL 60 5G, and the TCL 605, at MWC 2025 in Barcelona. The TCL 60R 5G is powered by a “high-speed 5G" chispet. However, the brand hasn’t revealed the chip's name, but according to GSMArena, it’s a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.
The 5G-enabled smartphone is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, with no room for storage expansion. It also has 8 GB of RAM expansion support, which allows you to expand the RAM of the smartphone up to 12 GB. The TCL 60R 5G features a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate for a smooth scrolling experience. Unfortunately, the device doesn't come with TCL’s in-house Nxtpaper display technology.
Instead, TCL packs Nxturbo tech, which is a hardware booster that ensures an enhanced scrolling experience, faster app launch, and smoother image loading, said TCL in its press release. For photography, the 60R 5G has a single 50 MP camera at the back and an 8 MP shooter at the front for capturing selfies and video chats. It houses a 5,200 mAh battery, though specific details about the fast-charging capabilities are undisclosed as of now.
The TCL 60R 5G costs €119 and will be available in a sole black colorway. Unfortunately, the 60R 5G smartphone will only be available in specific geographic locations, including Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America.
