Casio officially launches new rugged AE1600H watches in the US
The Casio AE1600H-1AV, AE1600H-5AV and AE1600H-8BV watches have been officially launched in the US. The wearables became available to import to North America via Amazon in January, though at a higher price. These products have also recently been launched across Europe.
Casio describes these watches as “heavy-duty”, with 100 m water resistance and a 10-year battery life estimate. A large LCD screen is surrounded by a chunky resin casing with a strap in a matching color. Plus, an amber LED backlight, triggered by a central button, helps you to read the watch in low lighting.
Features include dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch and a 24-hour countdown timer. There are also hourly time signals and support for five multi-function alarms, one of which offers snooze. According to Casio, the watch will remain accurate within 30 seconds each month, and the calendar is fully automatic to the year 2099.
The AE1600H-1AV is black, the AE1600H-5AV is beige/brown and the AE1600H-8BV has a dark gray casing and strap. While the first two have the typical light display with dark figures, the latter has a dark display with light figures. You can now buy the Casio AE1600H-1AV, AE1600H-5AV and AE1600H-8BV watches at the brand’s online store for $35.95.
