Casio’s Pro Trek line has a long-standing reputation for being built with the outdoors in mind, and now two of its latest models—the PRG-340L-5 and PRG-340B-3—are finally available in the US. These watches bring over all the features seen in their Japanese launch, with a host of practical tools for hikers, climbers, and adventurers who need reliable wrist wear.
The PRG-340L-5 sticks to an earthy coyote brown faux leather strap, which is designed to be flame-resistant while also blending very nicely into natural environments. Meanwhile, the PRG-340B-3 goes for a more tactical approach with an olive green fabric strap made from 'Castlon', a bio-based material derived from castor oil plants.
Both watches share the same Triple Sensor technology, meaning they offer a digital compass, barometer/altimeter, and thermometer, all packed into a dual-layer LCD display that keeps essential readings separate from timekeeping.
As expected from Pro Trek models, Tough Solar charging is onboard as well, allowing the watches to convert natural or artificial light into energy. They’re also 10-bar water-resistant, rendering them durable enough for most outdoor conditions.
Casio has priced these at $250 for the PRG-340L-5 and $260 for the PRG-340B-3, and they’re now available for purchase in the US, making it their first official release outside Japan.
