Another Casio collab watch is on the way, as the well-known timepiece manufacturer has now teamed up with Japanese pop group Da-iCE for a special edition of the DW-5600 - which brings a minimalist yet eye-catching color scheme to the iconic square-shaped G-Shock. Also, this model is fully exclusive, retailing for ¥25,000 (~$168), and will be available through official stores with shipping expected in late March, as per Great G-Shock World.
Unlike past collaborations that lean more towards bold patterns or thematic flourishes, the Casio x Da-iCE DW-5600 keeps things relatively simple. The watch case and band are made from matte-finish skeleton resin, which gives it a translucent look. The display, however, is where the contrast appears—an a-color LCD with a pearl-like tint, with a mixture of purple and white in a subtle gradient. It’s an understated design, yet clearly distinct from standard DW-5600 models.
The Casio DW-5600 series is known for its 200-meter water resistance and shockproof build for durability. The watch also includes the usual electroluminescent backlight, stopwatch, countdown timer, and multi-function alarm.
The back of the case features an engraved message referencing one of Da-iCE’s popular songs (Kartell). Packaging is also customized, with a dice-themed box (a reference to the group's name) and a unique purple tin for storage.
If you're a G-Shock collector, this release is a rare chance to grab a well-known base model with a collaboration that doesn’t overdo branding and keeps the aesthetic wearable beyond fandom circles. Whether it finds its way into regular wear or remains sealed as a limited-edition piece remains to be seen.
