At HP's Amplify 2025 event, the company introduced a bunch of products, and the HP EliteDesk 8 Mini G1a is one of them. It's a new mini PC that features Ryzen 200 series APUs.

HP has announced a good number of new products at its Amplify 2025 event. Among them is the EliteDesk 8 Mini G1a, a brand-new mini PC that features the newly introduced Ryzen 200 series APUs. Of course, these APUs aren't exactly new, as you can basically call them Hawk Point Refresh, based on the Zen 4 architecture with RDNA 3 iGPUs.

The HP EliteDesk 8 Mini G1a, more specifically, can be configured with up to a Ryzen 5 Pro APU. While HP didn't share the name of the APU, the top-end configuration likely features the Ryzen 5 Pro 230 or Pro 220. Both of them have a 6-core configuration, but only the former has an NPU.

With this mini PC, HP is primarily targeting enterprise users who are looking for a system with "strong performance." Per HP, the EliteDesk 8 Mini G1a is equipped with advanced security and has enterprise manageability, both of which are important for deployment in tight workspaces.

Speaking of which, the EliteDesk 8 Mini G1a offers a single-cable solution. That is, it's capable of transferring power and video through a single USB4 port, which makes it more suitable for fast-paced environments. On the note of the port configuration, the mini PC features the following:

  • 1x 10 Gbps USB-C
  • 2x 10 Gbps USB Type-A
  • 1x DisplayPort 2.1
  • 1x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x USB-C port with 100 W PD (PD 3.1 Ugreen 140 W charger curr. $67.99 on Amazon)
  • 2x optional Flex I/O port
  • 1x RJ45 Ethernet

For wireless connectivity, HP is offering the ability to configure the EliteDesk 8 Mini G1a with any of the three network cards, with the top-end option offering WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Other highlights of the mini PC include up to 2 TB SSD, support for up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM, and many security features. You can learn more from the spec sheet attached below.
