HP introduces ZBook Fury G1i laptops in 16- and 18-inch sizes with up to 16TB storage, 192GB RAM, and Thunderbolt 5

HP just revealed two new additions to its professional workstation series - the ZBook Fury G1i in 16-inch and 18-inch versions. Rather than just increasing screen real estate, the larger variant steps things up further with a faster 165Hz display.
Both laptops run on Intel's Core Ultra processors, going all the way up to the flagship Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX. These processors offer impressive CPU speeds (up to 5.5GHz peak frequency) and come equipped with a built-in neural processing unit (NPU) capable of handling AI workloads locally, with up to 13 TOPS of performance. Discrete GPU details are still pending, but HP does mention that the laptops will be configurable with the latest-generation Nvidia graphics when they become available at a later date.
In terms of memory and storage, users have the option to configure their workstation laptops with up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM and a massive internal storage capacity of up to 16TB through high-speed PCIe Gen5 NVMe drives, making external storage largely unnecessary.
The 16-inch model comes with multiple screen choices, including a 120Hz 3840x2400 HP DreamColor panel for professionals needing precise color accuracy. On the other hand, the 18-inch version has a slightly lower resolution (2560x1600) but compensates with an increased 165Hz refresh rate.
HP has included Thunderbolt 5 ports for fast data transfer (120Gbps), alongside a traditional HDMI 2.1, USB-A ports, SD card slot, and Ethernet connectivity. Both variants also come with HP’s Vaporforce tech which should help maintain performance under continuous heavy workloads.
Audio features include four stereo speakers from Poly Studio, along with dual-array microphones. Some SKUs come with a higher-resolution IR-enabled camera for better-quality video calls and Windows Hello facial authentication; some are limited to a more basic option. The keyboard is spill-resistant and RGB-backlit.
Both laptops run Windows 11 Pro and come with Microsoft's Copilot. Security is handled by HP’s Wolf Pro Security suite, including BIOS-level protections and secure login methods.
HP hasn't confirmed the price or specific availability dates yet, but more details are expected shortly.
