HP has introduced a new thin and light gaming laptop, the Omen 16 Slim. As the name suggests, it's thinner than the non-Slim variant. To be specific, the company says that it's 16% thinner than the regular version, making it more travel-friendly.
Now, while the HP Omen 16 Slim is noticeably lighter and thinner than the non-Slim, it doesn't appear to compromise on the power. One of the main highlights from its spec sheet is that the laptop can be equipped with up to an Nvidia RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. This GPU is said to be paired with an "advanced cooling technology," which ensures up to 105 W TGP and quiet operation under loads.
To be specific, HP claims that the cooling setup can keep the noise level as low as 46 dB under heavy loads. Another big highlight of this thin and light gaming laptop is that it can be equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, while the starting configuration of the gaming laptop features the Core Ultra 5 225H.
As for the display, the HP Omen 16 Slim sports a 16-inch screen, and the company is offering three panel options, with the top-end one being a WQXGA panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness rating. The front also houses a 1080p FHD camera with dual-array microphones. There's a decent selection of connectivity ports as well, including:
- 1x USB-C with PD (PD 3.1 Ugreen 160 W charger curr. $79.99 on Amazon)
- 2x USB-A with 5 Gbps signaling rate
- 1x USB-A with 10 Gbps signaling rate
- 1x RJ-45 Ethernet
- 1x HDMI 2.1
Other highlights of the Omen 16 Slim include a 70 Wh battery, a dual-speaker setup with DTS:X, a full-size keyboard, and up to WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. HP has yet to share the pricing and availability details of this new gaming laptop.
