Upcoming HP OmniBook X Flip 14 drops Qualcomm Snapdragon, adds Intel Core Ultra and Ryzen AI 300 processor options instead

We already have the OmniBook X AI 14, OmniBook Ultra Flip 14, and OmniBook Ultra 14. Now get ready for the OmniBook X Flip 14 set to become available later this season.

A notable feature of the new OmniBook X Flip 14 is its lineup of both Intel Lunar Lake and AMD Ryzen 300 processor options up to the Core Ultra 7 258V and Ryzen AI 7 350, respectively. The touchscreen can be configured up to a 3K 1800p OLED or the new midrange 2K 1200p OLED instead. Colors include Meteor Silver, Glacier White, or the new Atmospheric Blue. Visually, the model has an updated design with more ports than any of its recent siblings. Most notably, the system now features a full-size HDMI port while still retaining two USB-A and two USB-C ports which is impressive for a 14-inch form factor.

While the upgrades are respectable, the naming will almost certainly confuse some buyers and search engines. The current OmniBook naming convention feels like a soup of words with no easy way to separate generations, processors, or performance targets. The OmniBook X AI 14, for example, was notable for its Snapdragon X processor, but the new OmniBook X Flip 14 features only Intel and AMD CPUs. HP may need to revamp part of its naming scheme sooner or later to make it easier for laymen to follow.
