A not-so-known brand called Kidwants has a mini PC in its portfolio that features a built-in touchpad on the top. That means the system itself can act like a mouse, and users will only require a display and a keyboard to use the computer.

Mini PC makers are starting to get a bit creative with the design. Take the AceMagic M2A, for example. It sports a starship-inspired chassis that features a built-in screen. As for systems with a little more functional design, the Kidwants KN1 is a good example. It has a touchpad on the top cover, making the computer itself act as a mouse.

Like a touchpad on a regular laptop, there's support for multi-touch gestures. So, in theory, all that a user would need is a display and a keyboard to use the computer. Now, while having a built-in touchpad may sound interesting, it won't likely be comfortable to use, even when the mini PC is placed at a convenient position on a setup. You would also need to deal with all the cables connecting to it.

As for the mini PC itself, the Kidwants KN1 is a low-power system with an Intel Celeron N4000 processor. This dual-core CPU is paired with 128 GB of eMMC storage and 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The storage can be further expanded through the M.2 slot inside, which can hold up to a 1 TB 2280 SSD.

When it comes to the ports, this mini PC has the following:

  • 4x USB 3.0 Type-A
  • 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 2x HDMI
  • 1x Ethernet
  • 1x 3.5 mm audio jack

Pricing-wise, the Kidwants KN1 currently costs $109.99 on Amazon. While this makes the mini PC quite affordable, if you don't really want the touchpad feature, it would be a good idea to pick a more capable Intel N150-powered system instead.
