The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is a 2023 release that brings back the rotating bezel found on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The bezel allows users to easily navigate menus, especially when outdoors and wearing gloves. This feature is missing again on the latest Watch 7 series.
The 43 mm model comes with a 432 x 432 pixel 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display, while the 47 mm model comes with a 480 x 480 pixel 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display. The smaller model weighs 1.83 oz. (52 g), and the larger model weighs 2.08 oz. (59 g). Both are approximately 45% heavier than the Watch 7 models. An IP68-rating for water and dust resistance along with a sapphire crystal glass protects the internals.
The smartwatches are equipped with a 1.4 Ghz Exynos W930 SoC, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB of flash storage. The GPS models can receive Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, and GPS position information, while the LTE models add 4G/LTE calling and texting with an eSIM. The latest Wear OS 5 was rolled out for the Watch 6 Classics in the fall of 2024, bringing enhanced Samsung Health features and added functionality.
Like most top-end smartwatches, the Watch 6 Classic comes with all the expected health features, including heart rate, body fat, and fitness monitors. NFC payment functionality eliminates the need to carry credit cards.
