Announced alongside the 2025 OmniBook X Flip 14 and OmniBook X Flip 16 is the even larger OmniBook X 17.3 clamshell designed for "larger-than-life creations" and for buyers who could use a little more screen real estate than what the smaller models can provide. It should functionally act as a higher-end alternative to the cheaper Pavilion 17. 17-inch models are becoming more rare these days and so it's a surprise to see such a screen size added to the OmniBook portfolio.
Despite the larger screen, the OmniBook X 17.3 features the same Core Ultra V options as on the smaller 14-inch and 16-inch convertibles but with an optional GeForce RTX 4050 GPU to help separate the model from the rest. Both AMD and Snapdragon options are not available. In terms of ports, it integrates everything found on the 14-inch OmniBook X Flip 14 but with an additional USB-A port.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the new model is that it comes with only a 1080p IPS display with no OLED or 4K options to really take advantage of the larger screen. Meanwhile, even the 14-inch OmniBook can be configured with 3K OLED. We suspect the OmniBook X 17.3 to be relatively more affordable as a result. No starting prices have been announced.
