HP unveils the OmniBook X Flip 16 AI 2-in-1 laptop with up to Intel Core Ultra 7 258V CPUs and 3K OLED panel

HP has unveiled its latest OmniBook X Flip 16 AI, a 2-in-1 convertible productivity-focused laptop with premium specifications and a sleek 16-inch design. This time around, HP has added AI as well as non-AI versions into the OmniBook X series. Alongside the OmniBook X Flip 16 AI, HP has also announced the OmniBook X Flip 14 AI, the OmniBook X Flip 17.3 AI, and the OmniBook X Flip 16 notebooks in the OmniBook X series.

The HP OmniBook X Flip 16 AI sports a 16-inch convertible OLED display that outputs at a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels with a variable refresh rate of 48-120 Hz and a peak brightness of 500 nits. In addition to this, the panel also covers 100% DCI-P3 color spaces, making it suitable for tasks like digital sketching, video color grading, and photo editing. Alternatively, those who want a machine just for casual working can opt for the lower-res 2K (1920 x 1200) OLED configuration with a peak brightness of 300 nits. Plus, the panel is TUV + Eyesafe low blue light certified.

As far as the processor is concerned, one can choose between the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V/ 5 226V or AMD Ryzen AI 7 350/ 5 340 CPU. Sadly, there is no dedicated GPU here; depending on the processor you choose, you’ll get either Intel’s Arc 140V or AMD Radeon 860M integrated GPU. It can be configured with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD.

Furthermore, the convertible laptop houses a 68 Wh battery that supports 65 W wired charging via USB Type-C. HP packs all standard connectivity options, including 1 x Thunderbolt 4, 1 x USB-C, 2 x USB Type-A, 1 x HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, there’s no SD card reader slot here. So users will have to rely on a dongle. Despite its large screen, the laptop weighs only 1.8 kg (4.15 lbs) and measures 15.4 mm (0.61 inches) in thickness, making it lightweight and portable for its category. Other features include WiFi 7, a 5 MP IR camera with temporal noise reduction (TNR), dual speakers with DTS X ultra audio, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.

The HP OmniBook X Flip 16 AI 2-in-1 laptop will be available in Glacier Silver, Eclipse Gray, and Meteor Silver colorways. Speaking of pricing and availability, HP has yet to share detailed pricing and availability information for the HP OmniBook X Flip 16 AI laptop.
