The Vivobook S lineup from Asus was recently updated with AMD’s new Ryzen AI 300 processor featuring the Strix Point Zen 5 cores and the OEM is already offering $50 discounts for the $1,199.99 14-inch OLED model on its US online store via a “ASUSJUL50” coupon.

This is the M5406 variant of the Vivobook S14, which is powered by the Ryzen AI 9 365 with ten Zen 5 cores plus an RDNA 3.5 Radeon 880M iGPU and an updated XDNA NPU with 50 TOPS performance. Complementing this powerful processor are 24 GB LPDDR5X-7500 RAM (non-upgradeable) and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

Despite integrating a 75 Wh battery and a dual-fan / dual-heatpipe cooling system that produces less than 38 dBA in full loads, the Vivobook S14 maintains a slim 0.63-inch (1.59 cm) profile, while weighing only 2.87 lbs (1.3 kg).

On the display side, we find a high quality 14-inch OLED panel with 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 600 nit HDR brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and PANTONE validation.

Port selection is generous for this size and includes 1x USB4, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 full option, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.1 TMDS video out, audio jack and microSD card reader. Internet connectivity is available through aWi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card. Also supplied are a siigle-zone RGB keyboard with Copilot key, Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos support and an FHD webcam with IR sensor for increased security.
