AMD introduced its new Ryzen AI 300 series processors back in Computex 2024, but we're yet to see laptops with the new CPUs land on the market. Previous reports hinted that the launch event was set for earlier this month, but now, Asus has confirmed that it has been rescheduled to July 17.
This event was originally scheduled for July 8, and there's no confirmation on what made the company reschedule the launch event. Late last month, Best Buy revealed that the new Ryzen AI 300 laptops were set to be available from July 15, but now the retailer has changed the listings. They now show July 28 instead.
With that, it seems that Asus will be releasing its Ryzen AI 300 series laptops on July 17 in China, and they will start shipping from July 28 in the US. Of course, only the thin and light models will be available on the said date. The gaming-focused laptops don't have a release date on Best Buy yet.
Among the laptops that you can preorder right now are the Asus ProArt P16 with Ryzen AI HX 370 and Nvidia RTX 4060 at $1,699.99 and Zenbook S 16 with Ryzen AI 9 365 at $1399.99. The gaming-focused ROG Zephyrus models are also listed, but they aren't orderable at the moment.
Other Ryzen AI 300 series laptops are making their debut on Geekbench, but they don't have a firm release date yet. So, it seems the Asus laptops will be the very first Zen 5 systems to be available.
