Fans of RedMagic's cutting-edge premium Android smartphone design may be happy to learn that it is back in the refreshed or S variant of the brand's 9 Pro.
It also still has the same punch-hole-free display and rear cameras, albeit with Nubia's iteratively upgraded ICE 13.5 cooling technology, R2 Pro co-processor and RedMagic OS 9.5 UI with CUBE AI game-enhancing features to go with the upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC's Leading Edition.
It is rated to go at up to 3.4GHz - or 1GHz for its GPU - and is thereby touted by RedMagic as a future benchmark-smasher. It is available in the brand's latest, if limited, range of colors (white included) with 16 or 24GB of RAM - albeit as the 9S Pro+ only.
As the non-Plus model, it starts at 4,799 yuan (~$660) with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, although it can be maxed out to 16/512GB for 5,799 yuan (~$797).
Accordingly, those prices may or may not offer clues as to how much the smartphone will cost when it is unleashed as the same 9S Pro for the international market. Nubia asserts that it will help one "Unleash the Warrior Within" from 8.00 EST (14:00 CET) on July 16, 2024.
Meanwhile, the 9 Pro starts at $749 on Amazon with a $50 coupon available at the time of writing.
