HP previously offered the ProBook 4 series back in 2022 as the ProBook 445 G8 and the ProBook 450 G9. Today, at the HP Amplify 2025 event, the company is once again reinstating the ProBook 4 series with several Intel and AMD options.
HP ProBook 4 G1a 14 and ProBook 4 G1a 16
The HP ProBook 4 G1a offers AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 APUs and comes in both 14 and 16-inch variants. HP hasn't specified the exact AMD APU on offer, but the mention of a 16 TOPS NPU indicates that we could be looking at Ryzen 200 Hawk Point Refresh offerings that were announced at CES 2025.
Both the ProBook 4 G1a 14 and the ProBook 4 G1a 16 come with memory options up to 32 GB DDR5-5600 SDRAM and up to a 1 TB NVMe SSD.
The ProBook G1a 14 offers several display choices that include 1200p and 1400p panels while the ProBook G1a 16 additionally also offers a 1600p option.
HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 and ProBook 4 G1iR 16
On the Intel front, HP is offering the ProBook 4 G1iR 14 and ProBook 4 G1iR 16 equipped with Intel Meteor Lake Core Ultra 3, Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7 and 13th gen Core 5-1334U processor options.

HP ProBook 4 G1i 14 and ProBook 4 G1i 16
Another Intel portfolio within the ProBook 4 series is the ProBook 4 G1i 14 and the G1i 16. This lineup features Intel Core Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 non-vPro processors in both U and H series.
Additionally, the ProBook 4 G1i 14 and the ProBook 4 G1i 16 also come with a dedicated Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU with 4 GB of dedicated VRAM.
Other specifications including the webcam, ports, networking, and battery are similar to the ProBook G1iR lineup.
All ProBook 4 series offer a 1080p webcam as standard, but select models come equipped with a 5 MP webcam with IR for Windows Hello biometrics.
Port selection is the same across the entire ProBook 4 lineup, which includes 2x USB-C 20 Gbps ports with DisplayPort 1.4-out and Power Delivery, 2x USB Type-A 5 Gbps, 1x HDMI 2.1-out, 1x combo audio jack, 1x RJ-45, and an optional nano-SIM tray.
The Intel variants of the ProBook 4 series feature Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 WLAN with Bluetooth 5.3 or the MediaTek RZ616 Wi-Fi 6E card with Bluetooth 5.3. The AMD models feature the MediaTek RZ616 by default, but select models offer the MediaTek MT7925 Wi-Fi 7 WLAN card with Bluetooth 5.4. The G1i lineup allows optional Wi-Fi 7 via the Intel BE201 adapter.
All models can be configured with optional 4G LTE, a 48 Whr or 56 Whr battery, and offer the entire suite of HP enterprise security solutions.
