The SER8 Pro is a new mini PC from Beelink, which should be a well-known Chinese brand in the growing niche of compact computers. As the "Pro" in the product name already implies, this new system has a pretty powerful chipset and relies on an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS. This chipset comes with an AMD Radeon 780M iGPU, but OCuLink is not supported. The PC is further equipped with 32GB LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 6,400MHz.
The SER8 Pro can accommodate two SSDs, both can be connected via four PCIe 4 lanes each. Beeline also advertises a powerful cooling system, which is supposed to prevent thermal throttling. Various connectivity options are available, including an Ethernet port with 2.5Gbps, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4. These two ports can be hooked up to high-res 4K monitors or TVs at high refresh rates, such as 120Hz.
The mini PC can also be expanded with an external GPU thanks to USB 4, although there would be some bandwidth limitations in comparison to OcuLink. USB Type-C and USB 3.2 Type-A with 10Gbps and a 3.5mm headphone jack are available as well. The SER8 Pro sports two built-in speakers and a microphone, which might be useful when interacting with digital voice assistants. Beelink has not provided a release date or official list price yet, but the regular SER8 (non-Pro) is already available at several well-known US retailers including Amazon.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
