Over the past few weeks, we've seen a ton of mini PCs from the likes of Minisforum, Beelink and even Framework. Now, Sapphire, an OEM commonly associated with AMD Radeon graphics cards, has entered the fray with its Sapphire Edge AI (H/T Computerbase). It measures 117 x 111 x 30 mm, but Sapphire doesn't mention how much it weighs. But, it is small enough to fit on a standard VESA mount.
It is powered by AMD's Ryzen AI 300 series of chips with three options: the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, Ryzen AI 7 350 and Ryzen AI 5 340. The first two can be paired with up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, while the latter is restricted to 16 GB. Out of the box, you get a 1 TB M.2 2280 NVMe SSD with an additional M.2 2242 slot for further expansion.
There isn't much of I/O on the Sapphire Edge AI, given its size. You get two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, two HDMI 2.1 ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A port, one USB 2.0 Type-A port and a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet jack. At the front, you get two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The Sapphire Edge AI can be purchased in April, and the company promises to reveal its price closer to launch.
