A new mini PC from Asus has hit the scene, dubbed the ExpertCenter PN54. The system boasts powerful internals and an excellent selection of ports, all while managing an attractive exterior that is impressively compact at just 13 x 13 x 3.4 cm. As of this writing, we do not have any pricing or availability details on hand, although the PN54 mini PC is likely to be priced at a premium, considering the capable internal specifications.
At its heart, the Asus ExpertCenter PN54 mini PC is powered by either the Ryzen AI 5 340, or the Ryzen AI 7 350 APUs boasting six cores and eight cores respectively. As such, the Ryzen 7 variant commands a roughly 25% lead over the Ryzen 5 variant in synthetic benchmarks. The systems can be paired with up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory, and up to 2 TB of SSD storage courtesy of dual SODIMM and dual M.2 2280 slots respectively. Both the APUs on offer pack plenty of computing grunt - enough to chew through the majority of moderate to intensive workloads.
As with most other mini PCs, the ExpertCenter PN54 lacks room for discrete graphics. The AMD Radeon 860M (8 CUs, 3.1 TFLOPS) and Radeon 840M (4 CUs, 1.5 TFLOPS) iGPUs are quite capable, although far from sufficient for modern AAA gaming. As mentioned previously, the mini PC boasts an admirable array of ports, including triple USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, dual DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0, dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, USB 4, an audio jack, as well up to two 2.5G Ethernet ports. Wireless networking is taken care of by Bluetooth 5.4, as well as WiFi 7. A fingerprint reader is also present, allowing for an added layer of security.
