The Topton M1 is a palm-sized mini PC that's an AMD APU. To be specific, it packs the Ryzen 3 5425U, which brings a good amount of power for the system's size. It sits in the affordable price range as well, starting from $179.99.

Topton has introduced a new mini PC, which measures 78x78x55 mm. While systems of this size usually come with Intel N-series CPUs, this one is powered by an AMD APU. More specifically, it features the Ryzen 3 5425U, which is quite a dated option, but for the size of the system, it brings a good level of performance.

The company claims to have fitted the system with a newly developed airflow system. Paired with the integrated cooling setup, this palm-sized mini PC is said to stay quiet even while handling relatively heavy loads. Another highlight of the Topton M1 is that even though it's small in size, it has a rich set of ports, including:

  • 3x USB-C
  • 2x USB 3.2
  • 1x HDMI 2.0
  • 4x 2.5G Ethernet port
  • 1x 3.5 mm headphone jack

Here, it's interesting to see four Ethernet ports on such a small mini PC. However, it's worth pointing out that compared to the Intel-powered options that are of the same size, Topton M1's Ryzen 3 5425U has support for up to 20 PCIe 3.0 lanes. Systems with Intel Alder Lake-N CPUs, on the other hand, max out at 9 PCIe 3.0 lanes. So, the M1 stands as a more suitable option for storage and networking applications.

Of course, the fact that the RAM of the Topton M1 is soldered is a bummer, as the AMD Ryzen 3 5425U has support for up to 32 GB of memory. The good part is that there's an M.2 2242 slot, allowing users to expand the storage as required (2 TB Corsair MP600 Micro curr. $174.99 on Amazon).

Other notable aspects of this palm-sized mini PC include 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, two color options, and a sleek design. The Topton M1 starts at $179.99, which is the option without any storage, while the top-end option with a 2 TB SSD goes for $319.99.
