Arc 140T vs. Radeon 890M benchmarks: Both a win and a lose for Intel

The Arc 140V competes well against the Radeon 890M especially when it comes to performance-per-watt. However, higher-end Intel Core Ultra H-series CPUs like the Core Ultra 9 285H may come with the integrated Arc 140T instead of the 140V. Is the 140T any faster or more competitive against the Radeon 890M?

Unfortunately, our early benchmarks results with the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo and Asus ZenBook Duo OLED each equipped with the Arc 140T are mixed as shown below. The Arc 140T holds slight advantages in 3DMark benchmarks, but it still trails behind the AMD GPU more often than not in actual games like Baldur's Gate 3 or Final Fantasy XV. Cyberpunk 2077 and DOTA 2 Reborn results (after upgrading drivers) are essentially a tie while Intel loses more severely in GTA V. If there's one bright spot, the Intel GPU overperforms in the lesser-played title Strange Brigade 3.

Perhaps the most notable difference between the GPUs is power consumption as an Arc 140T laptop would demand almost 45 percent more power than an Radeon 890M laptop when running Cyberpunk 2077 even though the performance difference between them is under 10 percent. These results are nearly opposite of what we observed in our Arc 140V tests. If Intel can't beat AMD in raw frame rates on every game even with the more demanding Arc 140T, then the blue chipmaker can at least claim the performance-per-watt crown for the Arc 140V this generation.
