Samsung has a wide range of OELD gaming monitors in its Odyssey lineup. A more recent offering, launched in April this year, is now discounted on Best Buy to its lowest price yet. With OLED monitors becoming more accessible as competition increases, this discounted Odyssey QD-OLED G8 (G81SF) brings premium performance to a more approachable price.

There are two sizes available for this monitor, a 27-inch and a 32-inch. While both have the same MSRP, the 27-inch has a more attractive discount. It is a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) monitor which means the pixel density of about 163 ppi, compared to 138 ppi for the 32-inch. That sharp image is complimented by a 240 Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms response time, as well as accurate and vivid colors, with Samsung claiming 99% coverage of the DCI color space. The QD-OLED G8 also features VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and according to RTINGS, the HDR brightness is “adequate” and the monitor has “outstanding image quality, as it displays deep blacks in a dark room, vivid colors, and small highlights that pop.”

The gaming monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and is Nvidia G-Sync compatible. Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ tech is present here as well. For connectivity, there is one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a 3.5 mm audio jack, two USB-A ports, and a USB-B upstream port. The included stand allows for height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustment, and the monitor is VESA 100x100 compatible.
