Ricoh GR IV Monochrome gets February 2026 launch date
The previously announced Ricoh GR IV Monochrome digital camera has received a February 13, 2026 launch date.
The 25.74 MP digital camera is designed for photographers who want to take high-quality black and white photos. The GR IV Monochrome supports these users by removing the Bayer filter found on most CMOS sensors used for color photography. This increases the overall sensitivity of the APS-sized sensor to deliver an ISO range of 160 to 409,600, while eliminating aliasing artifacts.
A 28mm f/2.8 lens with high resolving power is coupled with a selectable internal red light filter and various B&W picture modes to deliver photos in a variety of monochrome looks. A 5-axis image stabilizer in addition to dual passive and contrast autofocus assists the photographer in capturing sharp images.
Optionally, the camera can be used to record 1,920 x 1,080 60p B&W videos. Both photos and videos can be viewed on a 3-inch display.
