The ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 was undoubtedly one of the most intriguing products Asus launched in 2023. Our in-depth review lauded it for its dual-screen functionality and powerful hardware. The laptop-tablet hybrid has finally received a refresh at CES 2026. It has received significant under-the-hood updates. The laptop launches in Q2, 2026, and its price will be revealed at a later point.
Unlike its 2023 sibling, which used AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, the new ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is based on Intel’s newest Panther Lake platform. Asus hasn’t mentioned any SKU by name, simply stating it uses an unspecified 16-core CPU, likely the rumoured Core Ultra X9 388H. The GPU also gets an upgrade to Nvidia Blackwell, with the choices being limited to the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5090.
Unfortunately, Asus doesn’t offer much in the way of memory/storage flexibility. The RTX 5090 variant comes with 64 GB of LPDDR5x memory and 2 TB of storage, while the RTX 5070 Ti version is limited to 32 GB of memory and 1 TB of storage. Thankfully, everything else is identical across both laptops, such as a 90 Wh battery, 1080p webcam, two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, a 3.5 mm combo audio jack, and a micro SD card reader.
The most notable upgrade, however, is its display. Instead of offering a tiny secondary screen to supplement a larger one, the new ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 lives up to its name and offers two 16-inch WQXGA (2,880 x 1,880) OLED screens with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Essentially, it is a gaming-focused version of the ZenBook Duo. Other specs include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. At 2.80 kilograms, the ROG Zephyrus Duo isn’t the most lightweight laptop around, but that’s the consequence of two screens and powerful components.
