Asus has brought the new Vivobook 16 model to this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with the next-generation AMD and Qualcomm processor options, alongside the latest-generation Vivobook S models. To be more exact, the Asus Vivobook 16 is now available with a choice between an AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X series processor. Unfortunately, Asus hasn’t revealed the exact name of the Qualcomm chipset.
Both the AMD and Qualcomm versions share very similar specs, including an Ergosense keyboard, a large touchpad, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. Dimensionally, it’s just 1.79 cm (0.70 inch) thick and weighs around 1.88 kg (4.14 lbs). Besides processors, both laptops come with different generation ports. For example, the AMD variant ships with two USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 1, two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 1 ports, one HDMI, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. While the Qualcomm variant sports two USB 4, two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 1 ports, one HDMI 2.1, and an audio jack.
Like the processor, Asus also offers two display configurations for the Vivobook 16. Speaking more precisely, the AMD model is paired with a WUXGA IPS panel. On the other hand, the Qualcomm variant comes with an FHD IPS display. Both models feature a 16-inch display with a 60 Hz refresh rate, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and an 89% screen-to-body ratio. The company hasn’t revealed the battery capacity of the Vivobook 16, but what we know is that it supports fast charging and can be charged to 60% in just 49 minutes.
Furthermore, Asus also claims that the laptop comes with military-grade durability and has a battery life of up to 17 hours. Other features include a Full-HD IR camera, Dolby Atmos-tuned speakers, AI features, and up to 50 TOPS NPU, which should result in decent performance in AI workloads.
There’s no information on the price or availability of the Asus Vivobook 16 at the time of writing. Buyers can choose from cool silver and quiet blue color options.
