Running stores is expensive - not something that every tech company can afford these days, although Apple 's stores naturally prove how valuable a network of retail locations can be. The big PC manufacturers have little of the sort. That is why Intel, still the largest processor manufacturer in the Windows market in terms of sales, has taken matters into its own hands.
Intel officially opened the first "Intel Experience Store" in Munich on October 30, 2025. In the store at Viktualienmarkt in the Bavarian capital, consumers can experience the latest Windows laptops with Intel processors up close. On display are premium models from all the major manufacturers: HP, Lenovo, Dell, Asus and Acer, as well as MSI, LG and Samsung, such as the HP Omnibook X (available at Amazon). Notebookcheck has already been able to take a look at the store at a press event.
The laptops are not just for touching, customers can also buy them directly in the store - Intel operates it in cooperation with German reseller-chains Mediamarkt, Notebooksbilliger and Cyberport. According to Intel, customers will also receive comprehensive advice on site as to which model is right for them.
Extensive gaming area with Dell Alienware and Lenovo Legion
In order to attract a younger target group, Intel has also set up a gaming area equipped with powerful gaming PCs and laptops from Dell Alienware and Lenovo Legion, where games such as Rocket League can be played.
The store also has some interesting AI demos with which Intel wants to demonstrate the advantages of its own AI PCs. Chromebooks are also on displa, but Intel will not be showing business PCs such as Lenovo ThinkPads or HP EliteBooks, however, as the focus is clearly on the B2C (business to consumer) business.
The Intel Experience Store at Viktualienmarkt 6 is open from Monday to Saturday, from 12 noon to 8 pm. But if you want to visit the store, you should not wait too long: It will only be open until St. Nicholas Day, which is December 06. Luckily, it will not just be this one pop-up store: Intel is planning to open more stores in the coming weeks. There will be five in total, with the other four opening their doors in Seoul, New York, London and Paris.
Transparency: Intel invited Notebookcheck to the opening of the Intel Experience Store in Munich. Intel paid for the author's travel and accommodation. Notebookcheck has not entered into any obligation to publish.
