Deal | Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 with 64 GB RAM and 2.8K OLED has been discounted by 46%

The Lenovo ThinkPad P16s and P14s have repeatedly gotten healthy discounts over the past months. Just recently, we reported that the Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 was enjoying a 44% discount, while a few days earlier, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 dropped down to $1,239. Both of these offers were from Lenovo’s official online store.

Lenovo has now dropped the price of the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 even further. Sitting at a total discount of 46% after using code BUYMORELENOVO at checkout, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 is now only $1,179, a price cut of over $1,000.

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 equips a fairly speedy Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350 CPU, 64 GB of DDR5 memory, 1 TB of storage, and a 14-inch OLED panel. The OLED panel features a 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, full DCI-P3 coverage, and touch input. The display also boasts an anti-reflective coating to improve outdoor readability.

Additionally, the durable plastic-magnesium chassis features a good port selection with:

• Two Type-A ports
• Two USB 4.0 ports
• One HDMI out
• An RJ45 Ethernet jack
• A 3.5 mm audio out

Unfortunately, there is no microSD or SD card slot. So, if you need one, you’ll have to rely on a dongle. There are, however, two SO-DIMM and two M.2 slots for RAM and storage upgrades, respectively.

Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 has the basics covered

In our review of the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 with a Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 and an IPS panel, we described the laptop as a “strong, compact mobile workstation”. This remains true for the SKU on sale, despite it packing a slower 8-core Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350.

On the flip side, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 features a much better display than what we got with our review unit. We lamented Lenovo’s choice of offering only an IPS panel with the Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370, as the 2.8K OLED is faster at 120 Hz and is in a different league when it comes to color reproduction.

Fortunately, except for only average battery life, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 doesn’t have any major weaknesses. Factors that make or break a notebook have all been handled quite well. For instance, the laptop has excellent inputs, keeps operating temperatures under control, doesn’t produce a lot of noise, and is easy to maintain.

Long story short, the latest discount has made the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 an easy choice for folks on the hunt for a portable workstation. While there is a chance that the laptop can drop further during Holiday promotions, the current 46% price cut is already quite good.
