Lenovo offers two good gaming notebooks with the Legion 5 and the Legion Pro 5, which mainly differ in terms of features. The gaming performance of the two units with the mobile GeForce RTX 5070, however, is almost identical.

Lenovo's Legion 5 and Legion Pro 5 series of gaming laptops have slightly different display sizes, but mainly differ in terms of features. In addition to the Advanced Optimus GPU switching, the display of the Legion Pro also supports G-Sync and it features a modern Intel HX processor. The regular Legion 5 on the other hand is equipped with an older Raptor Lake HX processor, but both models use the mobile GeForce RTX 5070 with a TGP of 115 Watts. Most games are more dependent on the GPU performance, so the older processor actually does not have a big impact. This is also the case for the regular Optimus GPU switching. Our tests in the QHD resolution show that both models are actually pretty much on par in terms of gaming performance.

The situation is also very similar for the two OLED screens: Excellent image quality, fast response times, 165 Hz and 2560 x 1600 pixels. Thanks to high brightness values (SDR ~500 nits, HDR ~1,100 nits), these panels are among the best on the market and HDR games in particular look amazing. You also get accurate color profiles if you want to edit images/videos.

The price difference between the two models with the GeForce RTX 5070 is around 400 Euros right now, and considering the differences, it is hard to justify the additional price of the Legion Pro. Please see our comprehensive review of the Legion 5 15 for more information.
