While the AMD-based S510AD model comes with a 15.6-inch display, the Intel-based B360 Plus laptop features a smaller 13.3-inch panel that is brighter. Getac offers varied processor options, especially for the Intel model. Default ports include Thunderbolt 4 / USB4, but there are lots of optional ports including serial, 2.5 GbE NIC, HF RFID reader, smart card reader and even VGA. Wi-Fi 7 + BT5.4 is offered by default.

The rugged laptop sector does not usually see tech refreshes too often, but Getac, as one of the long-standing companies in this field, has been quite active in updating its lineups and even introducing new models in the past few years. Just recently, the company released two new Microsoft Copilot+-ready laptops, including the S510AD - Getac’s first AMD-based rugged model powered by AMD’s Krackan Point APUs, and a B360 Plus model powered by Intel’s Lunar lake Core Ultra 200V processors.

Getac S510AD specs

For the S510AD AMD-based model, Getac is offering four APU options: the Ryzen AI 5 340 and its PRO version with 6 cores / 12 threads, as well as the Ryzen AI 7 350 and its PRO version with 8 cores and 16 threads. These APU integrate up to a Radeon 860M GPU and an XDNA 2 NPU with up to 50 TOPS. Getac also offers an Nvidia Quadro RTX A500 dGPU.

Most of Getac’s display options are adapted to provide increased visibility in bright environments. As such the 15.6-inch TFT LCD panel with FHD resolution on this model is capable of 1,000 nit maximum brightness. An optional touch variant is also offered.

Default RAM capacity is 16 GB DDR5, with 32 GB and 64 GB options. PCIe 4.0 SSD storage options go up to 2 TB.

Port selection is customizable with quite a few optional ports. Default configuration packs a USB4 connector, USB-A 10 Gbps, USB-A 5 Gbps, HDMI 2.0 video output, docking connector, 1 GbE jack and audio combo jack. Optional ports include: MicroSD card reader, SIM card, another USB4, smart card reader, RF antenna pass-through for GPS, 2.5 GbE NIC and serial port. Wireless connectivity is offered by default via a Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 card.

Security options are varied and come with some options, as well. By default, the laptop comes with TPM 2.0, Kensington lock, and the 5 MP webcam with Windows Hello compatibility. Users can add a fingerprint reader, HF RFID reader and Absolute Persistence, plus activate the PRO features from AMD.

With the 6,900 mAh battery, the unit weighs 2.35 kg (5.18 lbs) and the profile measures 39 mm  (1.5 inches). Given the MIL-STD-810H and IP53 certificates, these measurements are  fairly low.

Getac B360 Plus specs

Unlike the AMD model, the B360 Plus laptop is quite a bit smaller as it only features a 13.3-inch display. This, too, is TFT with FHD resolution, but it is considerably brighter at 1,400 nits.

Processor options are more varied:

These integrate up to an Arc 140V GPU and up to a 48 TOPS NPU. Depending on the model, RAM capacity goes up to 32 GB on-package LPDDR5X. SSD storage options go up to 2 TB.

Most of the ports and features are similar to the AMD-based model, except for the Thunderbolt 4 and VGA optional video out.

Despite being smaller, this model is almost the same weight as the AMD model, weighing 2.32 kg (5.11 lbs) and the profile is only slightly slimmer at 34.99 mm (1.37 inches). The battery loadout is different as well, as it includes 2x 4,060 mAh packs.
