Durabook has unveiled the R10 2-in-1 laptop designed to survive six-foot drops, dust and water exposure, and extreme temperatures while providing on-board Copilot+ AI services, a sunlight-readable touchscreen, and hot-swap batteries.

Durabook has announced its R10 2-in-1 laptop with a detachable keyboard for use in harsh environments.

The R10 is designed to survive six-foot falls, water-jet and dust exposure, extreme temperatures from -29°C to 63°C (-20°F to 145°F), and hazardous environments, with MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G, C1D2 ANSI, and IP66 ratings.

The Microsoft Copilot+ laptop is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 CPUs, with powerful NPUs that can run onboard AI chatbots and services. The systems can be configured with up to an Ultra 7 268V CPU, 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 2 TB NVMe PCIe SSD. A 1,000-nit 10.1-inch TFT LCD WUXGA (1920 x 1200) touchscreen is standard and supports Microsoft Pen Protocol active pens.

All units come with 10/100/1000 Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity along with a 5 MP front IR camera and 11 MP rear AF camera with flash, a speaker, and dual microphones for video meetings. For connectivity, a USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB-A 3.2 Gen2 port, an audio input/output jack, a microSD card slot, a 20-pin docking connector, and dual SIM support (Nano SIM & eSIM) is included. Additional, optional connectivity and input options are available, including a barcode reader.

The Durabook R10 measures 265 x 189.5 x 21.2 mm (10.4 x 7.5 x 0.8 in.) and weighs 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs.). Pricing is available to businesses upon request, and rugged tablets are typically priced from $1,500 to $2,500, depending on configuration.
