A new leak courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo suggests that Huawei is working on a new flagship foldable phone. It is said to be codenamed "Delphi" and may launch as the Huawei Mate X7. The tipster has now revealed the potential specifications, color options, and other highlights of the upcoming foldable phone.
The Huawei Mate X7 is expected to have an inner display measuring 7.95 inches. It is said to be an LTPO panel with a 2K resolution. The phone may feature the Kirin 9030, which is expected to be Huawei's next-generation flagship chipset. It may also power the upcoming Mate 80 series. As previously reported by Huawei Central, the Kirin 9030 is rumored to offer a 20% performance improvement over the Kirin 9020, which was used on the Mate X6 and the Mate 70 series. However, it is unclear whether it will use a 5nm process.
Moreover, the tipster reveals that the Mate X7 may have a larger battery while maintaining a thinner body. It is also said to have improvements in the camera department. A previous leak from the same tipster suggested that Huawei is evaluating two 50MP primary cameras, with sensor sizes of 1/1.56-inch and 1/1.3-inch. The prototype device is currently being tested with multiple color options, including Obsidian Black, Phantom Purple, Cosmic Red, Cloud Blue, and Cloud White.
The Huawei Mate X6 was launched last year in November. The Chinese tech giant is expected to keep a similar launch timeframe for the Mate X7. Additionally, the company may also release the Mate 80 series in November.
