The Huawei Mate 80 series is expected to launch in November. Reliable leaker Director Shi Guan has just published three photos showing the Huawei Mate 80 Pro in yellow and black, alongside a white plastic protective case. Unlike the Pura 70 Pro, Huawei continues to install a round instead of triangular camera module for the Mate series.
However, this is significantly larger than on the Huawei Mate 70 Pro, and the cameras have been completely reorganized. The periscope telephoto camera is located at the top center of the camera module and has a significantly larger front lens than the predecessor. The main camera and the ultra-wide-angle camera are placed below, while the telephoto camera is flanked by two LED flashes. The function of the second flash is not yet known, but it is conceivable that Huawei is simply planning higher performance and thus a longer range.
The back will be slightly rounded, and the frame houses a lock button and volume buttons. The Huawei Mate 80 series is expected to consist of four models: in addition to the Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro, a more expensive Mate 80 Pro+ and an exclusive Mate 80 RS Porsche Design are also expected. Rumors suggest that the flagships will be powered by a new HiSilicon Kirin 9030 processor.
Rumors also suggest a battery of at least 6,000 mAh with 100W fast charging via USB-C and wireless charging. Aside from the fact that the 50 MP main camera will have a larger sensor, no further details about the camera configuration have been revealed so far. The Huawei Mate 70 Pro stood out from many of its competitors thanks to its main camera with variable aperture and a periscope telephoto camera with a macro function.
