At first glance, the Flashback One35 V2 looks like an analog 35mm compact camera, available in eight different colors, two of which are even partially transparent. Even the packaging has a retro design. A small optical viewfinder and the lack of a display conceal the camera's digital parts.
The xenon flash on the front can be activated directly using a slider, while the dial on the back simulates the winding of a film camera. Inside the camera, however, there's no 35mm film roll, but rather a 13 MP sensor; Flashback doesn't provide any details on the sensor size or the lens used. However, it is at least possible to save photos as DNG RAW files.
An optional movie camera mode allows photographers to view photos taken 24 hours later, which is intended to reduce distractions and enhance the retro film feeling. Photos can be transferred to the associated smartphone app either via a USB-C cable or via Wi-Fi. The manufacturer advertises a battery life of two months, but this is likely to depend heavily on usage. Charging is via USB-C.
