After initial details of the HMD Pulse 2 Pro were leaked in July, highly reliable @smashx_60 has published a high-resolution image and more details about the features of the mid-range smartphone. Accordingly, HMD Global is opting for a slightly rounded plastic frame with a power button, integrated fingerprint sensor and a camera module that appears to be inspired by the Apple iPhone 17 Pro
The HMD Pulse 2 Pro reportedly offers a relatively easy-to-repair casing, but it is only IP54 certified and so not completely waterproof. Color choices include Glacier Green, Midnight Black and Twilight Purple. The frame is said to feature a user-programmable button. Further features include an NFC chip for contactless payment, stereo speakers and two microphones. The 6.7-inch display is reportedly based on a 120 Hz IPS panel with 1,080p+ resolution.
According to the leaker, HMD Global is installing a 50 MP selfie camera and a 50 MP main camera, but this will only be accompanied by a 2 MP sensor. The manufacturer is also skimping on the processor, as the Unisoc T7250 is an outdated 12 nm ARM chip with only two ARM Cortex-A75 performance cores running at up to 1.8 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at 1.6 GHz. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and will be rechargeable via USB-C with 20 watts. The mid-range smartphone is expected to launch with Android 15; details on the launch date and price are still pending.
