iFixit is now offering replacement parts, tools and repair manuals for the Google Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, which allow users to repair their smartphones by themselves if needed. iFixit includes the necessary tools, but those who don't require them can save a few dollars.
It's rather surprising that some components have become significantly cheaper compared to the Pixel 9 Pro. For example, the rear triple camera and tools now cost only $199, down from $266 for the previous model. This is the case even though Google has opted for the same hardware, including a 50MP f/1.7 main camera with a 1/1.31-inch sensor, a 48MP f/1.7 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/2.55-inch sensor, and a 48MP f/2.8 telephoto camera with a 1/2.55-inch sensor and 5x zoom. The batteries are also $10 cheaper than those for the Pixel 9 Pro at a price of $49, despite their higher capacity.
Those who want to replace the display, will have to pay a bit more than before, with prices of around $259. The glass back panel has also become slightly more expensive at $99 to $109. The front camera remains unchanged at $66 or $76, depending on the model. As the teardown video embedded below shows, the Google Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL (from $1,199 on Amazon) can certainly be repaired by users themselves in order to save some money. Here's a direct comparison of the replacement part prices:
