Dell has launched its new Pro Rugged 10 and 12 tablets. They are both Copilot+ PCs with Intel Core Ultra chips, IP66 durability, dual hot-swappable batteries, and modular repairable designs.

Dell has just introduced two new rugged Windows tablets - the Pro Rugged 10 and Pro Rugged 12 - both catered towards professionals working in "extreme" environments. The pair are billed as the lightest fully rugged 10-inch and 12-inch Windows tablets on the market, each powered by Intel’s new Core Ultra 200V series processors with built-in neural processing units (NPUs).

Both tablets qualify as Copilot+ PCs, running Windows 11 Pro with on-device AI features. Each model features dual hot-swappable batteries for continuous operation without shutdown, along with IP66 certification for dust and high-pressure water resistance. They’ve also passed MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G tests for drop, vibration, and electromagnetic performance.

The Pro Rugged 12 weighs 1.31 kg and comes with a 12-inch FHD+ touchscreen offering 1200 nits of brightness. The smaller Pro Rugged 10, at 1.04 kg, includes a 1,000-nit screen. Both displays are 16:10 panels with glove and water touch support, covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Optional 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 7 are available on both.

Internally, the tablets offer up to 32 GB LPDDR5x memory and 2 TB removable SSD storage. The Ultra 7 configurations come with Intel Arc 140V graphics, while Ultra 5 models use Arc 130V. Security options include TPM 2.0, fingerprint readers, smartcard readers, mechanical privacy shutters, and Windows Hello face recognition. The USB-C port, batteries, and SSD are all user-replaceable, and the devices ship in 100% recycled or renewable packaging. Each unit also uses recycled materials - 30% post-consumer plastic in the speaker housing and up to 98% recycled aluminum in the power adapter.

Accessories range from full-size IP66-rated keyboards to handles, rotating hand straps, and VESA-mount magnetic plates. The 12-inch model supports additional I/O configurations and a longer-range barcode scanner option, while the 10-inch variant uses a smaller 50x50 VESA mount for compact setups. Both tablets are available with Dell’s standard and ProSupport service options, including next-business-day onsite support for up to five years. They are now purchasable via the Dell Germany website (Dell Pro Rugged 10, Dell Pro Rugged 12) starting at €2,909 and €3,129 respectively. UK prices appear to start at £2,523 and £2,715 for the same SKUs, respectively; 80 pounds cheaper with no handle included. For customers in the States, it's $2,670 and $2,990.
