Back in June, we reported that Dell’s latest portable mainstream offering, the Dell 14 Plus laptop, was on sale for just $899.99. The price was the lowest ever for the laptop at the time. Fast forward five months, and the Dell 14 Plus (2025) is now on sale at an even better price.
The Dell 14 Plus with a Core Ultra 7 258V APU, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and a 90 Hz IPS display can now be yours for just $799.99 on Amazon. According to camelcamelcamel, this is a new record-low for the laptop, making this a perfect time to consider the notebook.
In our review of the Dell 14 Plus with a Core Ultra 7 256V, we noted that the main drawbacks of the laptop were the weaker Arc iGPU, non-upgradable RAM, and a slightly grainy matte panel. These issues are not a big deal, especially since the Dell 14 Plus on sale has 32 GB of RAM instead of 16 GB of our review SKU.
Focusing on the positives, the Dell 14 Plus has a pretty good 2.5K IPS panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. Our measurements confirmed that the panel covers full sRGB, gets 333 nits of brightness, and has a decent contrast ratio of 1,686:1. The display also comes pre-calibrated.
Being a portable 14-incher, the Dell 14 Plus isn’t really meant to be a powerhouse. So, the Core Ultra 7 258V inside the model on sale is more than fast enough for the notebook’s intended use. Our testing places the CPU at the same level as the high-end Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in single-core and the Core i7-1360P in multi-core.
On the iGPU side, although you can’t really play demanding AAA games at elevated settings, the Arc 140V is quite sufficient for lighter/older AAA titles, indie games, and eSports games. Our review device, for instance, managed to run Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty at more than 40 FPS at 1080p/low.
Finally, what the Lunar Lake APUs lack in raw performance, they make up for in efficiency. Our review device, equipped with the Core Ultra 7 256V and a 64 Wh battery, lasted more than 14 hours in our WLAN test. So, you can expect the Dell 14 Plust to last a full workday and then some.
All in all, the Dell 14 Plus (2025) is a solid multimedia machine that should make a lot of people quite happy.
