The Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 comes in both Intel and AMD flavors. Intel options include the Lunar Lake Core Ultra 5 226V or Ultra 9 288V while AMD options include the Zen 5 Ryzen AI 5 540 or Ryzen AI 7 350. While all options share the same 1200p touchscreen and external design, there are actually major differences between them when it comes to performance and ports.
Users who prioritize multi-thread processor performance may want to consider the AMD options as the Ryzen AI 7 350 can be over 30 percent faster than the Core Ultra 9 288V. Other than this advantage, however, the Intel model offers many more benefits including longer battery life, superior performance-per-watt, and much faster integrated graphics performance with the Arc 140V when compared to the Radeon 860M.
Another overlooked advantage with the Intel options include support for both HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4 at 40 Gbps whereas the Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 AMD models are limited to HDMI 1.4 and USB-C at 10 Gbps. Users who intend to connect external 4K monitors to their laptops will therefore want to consider an Intel configuration for the best monitor support.
