Several months after it was first announced, the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is now available to buy. The controller was unveiled in October 2024 with a planned release for March 19, 2025. However, its release was delayed until early this month when it became available to pre-order.
With the pre-order phase now over, the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is now available to buy from both Amazon and 8BitDo's eShop. The controller is priced at $39.99 in the US and £34.99 in the UK, and is available in Black and White color options.
The 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is designed for the Analogue 3D console, which has also faced delays, but is expected to start shipping in August. Thankfully, the controller is also compatible with other devices.
According to the product page, the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller works with the Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2, Windows devices (Windows 10+), and Android devices (Android 9.0+). It connects to these devices and platforms via Bluetooth and wired USB.
The 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller has Hall Effect joysticks and triggers, a classic D-pad, a mode switch on the back, a turbo function, and support for vibration when connected to the Analogue 3D and Nintendo Switch (Nintendo 64 online only). It also has a 1,000mah battery capacity that should provide up to 36 hours of use on a single charge.
