While boasting a unique modular construction, the Victrix Pro BFG isn't the perfect Xbox or PS5 controller. The new Turtle Beach Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded addresses stick drift with Hall effect thumbsticks. Other changes are more subtle, like a redesigned fight pad module to reduce wrist strain.

The Victrix Pro BFG is a modular Xbox and PS5 controller that appeals to a wide range of competitive gamers. However, these demanding users suggested ways that Turtle Beach could improve the accessory. To combat stick drift, the wireless Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded adds Hall effect technology to its analog sticks and triggers. Also, the company promises that the six-button fight pad module is now more ergonomically friendly.

Gamers in the UK and EU can purchase the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded today at select retailers for £179.99/€199.99. For North Americans, the $209.99 Turtle Beach controller is available for pre-order. These buyers will have to wait until September 28th for shipping.

The new Turtle Beach controller now offers the benefits of Hall effect sensors without a separately purchased add-on. It joins a growing list of DualSense Edge and Xbox Elite Series 2 competitors with more reliable and durable analog stick inputs.

Both the left and right modules remain swappable and reversible, which settles the asymmetrical or symmetrical debate. The Xbox and PS5 controller also ships with alternate sticks, D-pads, and gates to further personalize the peripheral. Owners can remap the four back paddles or change deadzone settings in the Victrix Control Hub app.

How the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded adapts to different genres and platforms

The fight pad module will receive the most attention, as it makes the controller an alternative to clunky fight sticks. Virtual brawlers can rest their wrists on the handles' grips and still access the six Kailh microswitches. Turtle Beach is confident enough to show off the device at the latest Evo fighting tournament. Still, many pros will undoubtedly prefer leverless pads like the Victrix Pro KO or the new PlayStation FlexStrike.

PS5 loyalists will need to use the bundled USB wireless dongle or a wired connection for lower latency. For multi-platform gamers, the Xbox version of the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded also has Bluetooth connectivity. The controller is rated to last up to 20 hours before recharging is necessary.

Like some Scuf controllers, casual gamers may lament that the new option still lacks vibration. On the other hand, Turtle Beach managed to trim its weight from 298 to 265 grams. The Hall effect controller once again caters to performance-focused fighting and shooter game fans.
