Evidence that Samsung is working on a new high-end Windows device has emerged online courtesy of Abhishek Yadav. So far, two Geekbench listings have surfaced online bearing the model numbers 500SHA and 500THA. For context, these listings have appeared amid rumours that Samsung plans to skip the Galaxy Book5 Ultra in favour of the Galaxy Book6 Ultra.
The information that can be gleaned from both listings suggests that we are looking at something other than a future Galaxy Book laptop, though. As the screenshots below show, both listings refer not to a laptop processor but a desktop alternative. Specifically, Samsung is seemingly developing the 500SHA and 500THA with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285 (curr. $579.99 on Amazon) rather than laptop equivalents like the Core Ultra 9 285H or Core Ultra 9 285HX.
Theoretically, Geekbench could be incorrectly reporting the processor's name. However, both listings report 24 CPU cores split between 8 and 16-core clusters, which are direct matches for the Core Ultra 9 285. Moreover, the motherboard model number 'DM500THZ-AD9AB' relates to an all-in-one desktop system that Samsung sells in South Korea. As a result, we suspect this is a case of mistaken identity rather than anything Galaxy Book5 Ultra or Galaxy Book6 Ultra related.
